Mayor Rusty Knox ended his visit by posing for a picture with CSD’s AACA community and guests, including Executive Director, Mr. Smith (in blue). When asked about his favorite part of leading a town, Mayor Knox said, “This. I love coming to school and talking to kids.” He mentioned many schools he visits like Hough, Hopewell, North Meck and more.

Now in its second year, the Sweet Fun Run brings families and friends together for a unique event that combines running 4 laps around CSD’s Spartan Park track with eating a treat after every lap. This year, the event raised more than $2300 for charity.

In 2022, four 9th grade friends had the idea of starting a family friendly fundraiser that combined eating and running while building school spirit.
