CSD seniors build a playlist

Spartan Class of ‘26 seniors share songs halfway through the year

In early February 2026 student journalist Mario Hardy worked with the Student Life director to survey the Community School of Davidson Class of 2026 and create a playlist of CSD seniors favorite songs that they love to listen to on a daily basis, the songs that they believe reflect their moods halfway through the year. These 14 songs made the playlist now on Spotify.

Flat Stanley, meet some flat Spartans
CSD student Isabel McDavitt’s (‘25) collection of K-pop albums and merchandise fill the frame. Some albums displayed are The Name Chapter: Temptation from Tomorrow X Together (TXT) and Manifesto: Day 1 album from ENHYPEN. Merchandise include a mini photocard album, lightsticks from TWICE and TXT respectively, and a Stray Kids’ Victory Hyunjin plush.
K-pop’s cultural influence and uniqueness hits high school listeners
While reading the “Harry Potter” books brings one type of enjoyment and satisfaction, watching the series brings another. Balancing books and movies and how each interprets storylines is an ongoing bebate in high school. (CSD Journalism staff photo.)

Mario Hardy is a senior who has been a Spartan since 7th grade. He is taking Journalism because he believes it is a cool course that will really help him with his dream of working in politics. He really loves cars and music. Some of his favorite cars are the Crown Majesta S 140 and the Mazda RX-7. He also keeps a list of global car shows and cars he wants to see there on his phone. Just in case. As for music, Mario really likes exploring different artists. Some of his favorite artists are Milkzy, J. Cole, KidTokio and Nino Paid.
