The flags that surround the World History classroom serve as a reminder that the world Is open for student travel, especially during summer.

With summer right around the corner, here are the reasons students should travel and the places to do it.

Benefits of Travel

Some of the benefits of summer travel include the ability to explore new places and cultures. Since students spend most of the school year in the same place, having new experiences in new places can be insightful on many levels. Having these new experiences can also be lots of fun to fill up the long summer.

Domestic Ideas

Florida – Florida is always a popular place for teens to migrate over the summer. With its expansive network of beaches and its famous nightlife, Florida invites teens to tan and party all summer long.

Washington, D.C. – D.C. is properly the city with the most educational opportunities on this list. With endless free museums and historical landmarks, there is plenty to do in the district.

New York City – NYC has the largest metropolitan area out of any city in the Western world, and when you’re there, it’s easy to tell. There is no activity or event that isn’t in NYC, and pretty much anything a student would want to do is in or around it.

California – Cali is a popular state to visit for teens. It is essentially a west coast Florida with a greater pop culture scene.

International Destinations

Paris – Paris is one of the best international locations for travelers. The famously romantic city lives up to the hype. The famous tourist attractions are as good as everyone says and the European city is a unique blend of old and new.

Singapore – Singapore is worth the trip around the world. It is one of the wealthiest cities on Earth if students can afford to empty wallets. Living the highlife here is an unforgettable experience.

London – London is the New York of the U.K. It has most of the things New York has and the monarchy to go with it.

Local Hot Spots

Randolph Mint Museum –  The Randolph Mint in Eastover provides a refined art center in the middle of one of the nicest neighborhoods in NC.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame – The NASCAR HOF is a great place to enjoy the history of stock car racing in the U.S., particularly the South. They have many fun activities, including a racing simulator and real track banking.

Southpark – In the Southpark area, there are many fun activities, including Southpark Mall which is full of luxury stores and many famous high-end restaurant chains that are a must-try. The area also makes an effort to have plenty of greenery, which adds a nice touch to the area.

Jetton Park – Jetton Park on Lake Norman is a great place to connect with nature and enjoy the outside this summer. Whether going for a walk, swimming at the beach or playing Tennis/pickleball, Jetton is a beautiful place to be outdoors.

If you frame it properly, endings are beginnings. When the school doors close, the world opens. For students, this means new opportunities and endless adventures.
