As you have probably seen, Prime Minister Liz Truss is out of 10 Downing Street and Rishi Sunak is in as the new Prime Minister. Ms. Truss had the shortest tenure as Prime Minister in British history. It lasted only 46 days.

That begs the question of why was her leadership so short? She initially came into power on the sixth of September 2022 and a sad omen happened almost immediately. Queen Elizabeth II died just 2 days later. Call it foreboding.

Her economic policies were also questionable. Prime Minister Liz Truss implemented an unrealizable and unrealistic $45 billion tax cut for the highest earners. According to Vanity Fair that would cause the British pound to tank and drop 22% in value. The Washington Post cited that mortgages rose nearly 70%.

So what might this mean for the USA? These economic policies have contributed to the U.S. stock market dropping by 5% over the course of less than two months according to Forbes

Overall it appears as though implementing radical economic shock therapy is at best a risky move and at worst a guaranteed disaster.

Goodbye, Ms. Truss
