CSD football, with the hopes of winning conference (and more), is coming after you.

The CSD Spartans compete in the Catawba Shores Conference (Class 1A and 2A) of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA). 1A teams are Langtree Charter, Bradford Prep, Mt. Island Charter and Christ the King. 2A teams are Community School of Davidson, Pine Lake Prep and Lincoln Charter. Booth boys and girls teams in different fall sports have done well in Conference, Regional and State competitions.

This season the Spartans junior varsity boys soccer team has 13 players on the roster while the varsity has 19. This season the varsity team is led by five seniors and is looking to make the state playoffs and win their conference championship. Last year the Spartans lost in the Conference Championship to Langtree, and lost in the 3rd round of state playoffs to Shelby. It was still a very successful season for them.

With 44 on the roster,  the Spartans football team has standout wideouts, Tanner Mullins and Brandon Albert. Starting quarterback, AJ Sirianni, also leads the offense. The team competes in a bigger, football only, conference that includes CSD, CTK, Mt. Island, PLP, Winston-Salem Prep, Carver and Bishop McGuinness. This season the Spartans hope to emerge as a playoff contender.

The CSD cheer team has twenty-one girls and it is lots of fun. They cheer for Football in the fall and basketball in winter. The Cheer team creates fun Hip Hop routines to popular songs and learn new cheers and create new cheers every practice. The team enjoys stunting and learning new skills. Everyone on the team is great friends and all love cheering for CSD every Friday night!

CSD Volleyball consists of a junior varsity team and a varsity team. This year the teams have a new coach, Betsy Miller, who played for the University of Kentucky. Her husband, a former volleyball player, occasionally helps, too.

Her coaching style consists of caring about the team’s mental health and well being rather than a tough coaching approach. With this new perspective, this team should have big potential for state conference.

The varsity team consists of 4 graduating seniors, 3 juniors, 3 sophomores  and 1 freshman. They have tight connections and work well on the court.

Junior varsity is now coached by Coach Katie. Her previous coaching consisted of softball, basketball and an assistant coach in volleyball.

Spartans tennis is happy to return to Spartan Park and is looking forward to a successful season. The girls had a good season last year and are planning on building on it with several returning players. The team is also hosting the Conference Championships.

Women’s Golf plays at The Peninsula Club against teams at area courses like Mooresville Golf Course, Highland Creek, Northstone and Verdict Ridge. Five of the seven Catawba Shores Conference schools have golf teams. The Lady Spartan golfers are always competitive. Four athletes compete this season.

Boys and girls both run cross country in the fall. The Spartans run a 5K course at Fisher Farm in Davidson. Boys and girls run at different times on the same day and sometimes have “A” and “B” groups. 21 boys and 12 girls make up the team.

Go Spartans!
