Jeff Hinton is an EC teacher who works individually with students and teachers across many subjects. He also leads the EmpowerED Trades program which gives students the opportunity to get into the community and learn skills, like plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and more.

As an Exceptional Children (EC) teacher, Jeff Hinton helps students with different work and moves around classrooms helping teachers. He provides educational support and one on one and small group academics, too. Hinton also helps introduce kids to trade with his EmpowerEd Trades class, a course which offers students the opportunity to explore trades including carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical work, and landscaping while working with professional trades people and contractors and working as a team with the Davidson Housing Coalition.

What’s one thing everyone should know about you?

I have 5 daughters

Why did you decide to come to CSD?

I wanted my oldest daughter Hazel to be able to come to school here.

What’s your favorite place on Earth?

The golf course

Community School of Davidson Student Life Leader, Leslie Bragg, stands behind her desk on Learning Street, the school’s busiest hall. It is an appropriate location since her job entails listening to the voices of students and serving as a bridge between students and administration with the help of the building community.

Mario Hardy is a senior who has been a Spartan since 7th grade. He is taking Journalism because he believes it is a cool course that will really help him with his dream of working in politics. He really loves cars and music. Some of his favorite cars are the Crown Majesta S 140 and the Mazda RX-7. He also keeps a list of global car shows and cars he wants to see there on his phone. Just in case. As for music, Mario really likes exploring different artists. Some of his favorite artists are Milkzy, J. Cole, KidTokio and Nino Paid.
