Will Watson

Will Watson, Staff Writer

Will Watson, 17, is a junior and has been attending CSD since eighth grade. This is his first year in journalism saying, “I like to write for the most part and it was highly suggested by some of my friends.” Watson’s favorite subject in school is English. “It [English] was another factor for me signing up.”

Coming out of COVID, Watson has high hopes for the coming year. “Seeing friends, learning a lot more and then also sporting events,” are some of the things he is looking forward to. Last year, COVID changed everything; baseball in particular. “I began playing baseball at the age of six and have loved it ever since.” He played for CSD in eighth grade and sophomore year, having only played five games in freshman year before all sports were shut down.

Outside of school, Watson enjoys being outdoors and playing pickup basketball in his neighborhood. He has a job at Smoothie King; his favorite flavor being Pineapple Surf.

After graduating high school, Watson wishes to attend college. “NC State or App State. Probably anywhere in state…not too close but not super far.” 

This year Watson will be a staff writer and is most excited to write about sports.
