Holt Grier (‘25) uses his artistic ability to show an express version of himself in a colorful way, drawing himself in an expressive art style and showcasing his love for music. “I experimented a lot with the colors and overall style, attempting to replicate artists on social media that I am fond of, as well as putting my own spin on things. Recently, I have been enjoying drawing self portraits, so that’s what I did here, with ‘fragments’ of myself surrounding me. These ‘fragments’ represent parts of myself, such as my enjoyment of music, and my health, among other things. I don’t want to reveal too much of my artwork, as I find enjoyment in the thought that you, the viewer, must decipher some of the hidden meanings. Just know that even though it looks simple, this is a very personal piece for me, as it is my last work that will be produced at CSD. I dare say it is my most favorite piece from all of my time here.”
