It’s not that common for a school to have a boys or girls high school basketball player score 1000 points in their four year career but as the 2025 season came to a close, the CSD Spartans Varsity Boys Basketball team had two players reach that level in the same season. Austin Moran (‘25) was the first player to hit 1000 and Dermot Lowry (‘25) was the second. After CSD, Lowry will continue to play basketball at Catawba College and Moran will play baseball at Dartmouth. The 1000 point pair took time to answer questions from the Spartan Questionnaire.

How does it feel to be committed to a D1 baseball school? (Austin Only)
Most people may think it feels relieving to be committed but I see it more as if it’s challenging me more to grow. The work I have put in to get me to this point has paid off but it’s only the start of what I have ahead. Being committed to a division 1 school gives me a drive and opportunity to become better and that is a challenge I am super excited to take on!
