Welcome to the new Spartan “Creativity Corner”
Welcome to the Spartan Sentinel’s home for creative writing, poetry, short stories, fictional works, visual art, dance clips, photography, ceramics, wood art and more.
While the Spartan Sentinel is primarily an online news and information site, student journalism staff believes that in order for the site to represent ALL STUDENTS it must also be a home for the many creative outlets and pursuits that happen within the walls of CSD high school every single day.
The “Creativity Corner” was created in 2024 to showcase student art and give CSD’s creative writers (and more) a way to publish their work.
Our hope for the “Creativity Corner” is to encourage freedom in thinking, expression, interpretation and an appreciation of difference in experiences. Our staff will not censor artists (as long as submissions fall within CSD’s generally accepted standards of education). We hope artists can find a safe space here for all of their individual creativity.
For those who wish to submit items for publication, it’s easy! Just email a picture, video, or Google doc of your creation to [email protected] and the Journalism class will do the rest.
We hope to continue to share student art for many years to come.

Anonymous Submission and Publication Policy –
The Spartan Sentinel recognizes that some writers, poets and artists wish to share their work anonymously. Our editors welcome and will publish appropriate Creativity Corner work “anonymously” however the submission must come from either a student’s school email account or a member of the Spartan Sentinel must know (and will keep confidential) the name of the student contributor.
